Family Medical Care Plan

The NECA/IBEW Family Medical Care Plan (FMCP) is a multi-employer, defined-benefit welfare plan jointly trusted benefit plan between the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). The Plan was established in January 2006 in a cooperative effort to provide high-quality health benefits, at the lowest cost possible, for electrical workers on a cost-effective basis in the best interest of both IBEW and NECA members.

National Electrical Benefit Fund

Throughout the entire history of the National Electrical Benefit Fund, both electrical workers and contractors have dared to dream of a pension plan that would help bring security, dignity, and peace of mind to all plan participants.

There have been significant improvements to the NEBF since it was established which have benefited NEBF participants, retirees and surviving spouses, as well as its contributing employers.

Today, NEBF is the second-largest Taft-Hartley Pension Plan in the United States. It serves over 638,285 participating individuals, with more than 159,623 of those individuals receiving either a retirement or surviving spouse benefit.  The Plan has over 8,877 contributing employers, resulting in over 551,384,114 hours worked in covered employment.
